Welcome to theOfficial website of the Department of Economics and Statistics, University of Salerno (DISES).
DISES originated from the joining of economists and statisticians from the Faculties of Economics, Political Science, Humanities and Law, and is the focal point for all research in economics and statistics at the University of Salerno.
The Department produces a wide range of research outputs which can be found under the section Publications.
The DISES promotes, coordinates and enhances research and teaching activities in the areas of economics and statistics. The main research areas it specialises in are theoretical and applied economics, statistics, mathematical economics and economic history.
The Department counts over 70 faculty members among its affiliates and hosts many visiting researchers from prestigious European and US universities.
It devotes effort, resources and care to pursuing high quality research at an international level. This is achieved through the organisation of seminars, workshops and conferences and through the active involvement of several of its members in the Editorial Boards of established international journals.
In addition, the Department and its members are involved in various capacities in many of the University's Research Centres and Laboratories.
